Hive Dive: Game Based Learning & Best Practices for Using Games in the Classroom

This workshop will provide a framework and guide to how, when, why and where games might be used in the classroom. The objective of this workshop is to provide inspiration for anyone interested in using games to engage students in interactive learning. Teachers will gain insight on ways to integrating technology into their curricula and be given resources for game-based learning. Some topics covered will be: - Creating a digital classroom: how to use the best learning tools, apps, and games on Chromebook and laptops - Low tech engagement: how to engage students with everyday materials (classroom blog, classroom website) - Game play and health subjects: using games to address health issues among adolescents - Creative engagement with Common Core: building skills on social emotional learning and 21st century skills that are robust and relevant to the real world Please complete this short survey for the workshop facilitators by Wednesday, August 19th.
