Facing History and Ourselves : Teaching the Holocaust in Middle School

February 10, 2016 @ 08:30 AM - 04:30 PM

How can Facing History's interdisciplinary approach support your exploration of the Holocaust through literature? In this workshop, we will examine the range of choices that led to the failure of democracy in Germany, and ultimately the persecution of millions of Jews and other targeted groups. Over the course of the day, we will explore middle school-appropriate material and pedagogical tools that can support thoughtful discussion and reflection using a range of Holocaust texts. Illinois Educators can earn 7 Clock Hours for full participation in this course.
