Facing History and Ourselves – Civic Dilemmas: Questions and Discussion About Contemporary Issues
February 9, 2016 @ 04:30 PM - 07:00 PM|$10
This after-school workshop will help educators address current issues of diversity and difference and inform their understanding of current refugee crises in the American southwest and Europe. Facing History brings deep expertise in this area, based on our decades of work on how labeling people as 'other' has been used in history as the basis for segregation, apartheid, and genocide. Studying these histories, and connecting them to today, raises essential questions about citizenship, integration, and the consequences of individuals, groups, and nations defining their collective identities.
