Building Resilience in Young Children in Response to Adversity

This beginner level course is designed for current Early Childhood Educators and Care Providers (ECEC), parents and caregivers, and other adults who serve young children who are seeking strategies and developmental knowledge to support young children after traumas and adverse experiences. Participants will learn practical strategies for communicating with and supporting children after adverse experiences such as natural disasters, exposure to negative events in the media, neighborhood violence, and potentially traumatic event. Participants will learn about available support services for children and families. Participants will practice their skills through role plays, video examples, and discussion.
